After more than twenty years designing and creating handmade jewelry, I still believe in the value of what cannot be mass-produced. In pieces that bear the imprint of the hands that made them. In the beauty of imperfection. In materials that age with dignity and in stones that nature took millions of years to form.
This way of understanding jewelry is the essence of Olga Prieto.
THE VALUE OF UNIQUENESS
My story began far from where I was born.
At 25, I moved first to Venezuela and then to Mexico. There, I discovered a connection with craftsmanship that left a lasting impression on me.
In markets, workshops, and small streets, I found artisans working with metal, wood, clay, and textiles with a natural ease that fascinated me. Each object was different. Each piece had its own character.
I then understood that true beauty wasn't in perfection, but in that which could not be exactly replicated.
An idea that continues to guide my work today.
HANDCRAFTED JEWELRY FROM OUR WORKSHOP IN MEXICO
All of our pieces are handcrafted in our workshop in Mexico.
We work with traditional techniques, far removed from industrial processes and mass production. Fire, hammer, and time remain fundamental tools in our creative process.
Many of our jewelry pieces are created without molds.
That's why each piece retains small variations that make it unique.
We don't seek uniformity. We seek character.
The imprint of the process is part of the final beauty of the jewelry.
BRASS AS A LANGUAGE
I'm drawn to its warmth, its versatility, and the way it evolves over time.
Each texture, each relief, and each hammered surface interacts with light in a different way.
I often say that I design jewelry like someone painting a picture.
The metal is the canvas.
The fire transforms.
The tools draw.
And the stones provide the color.
